Times News NetworkKanpur: An inter-district cattle theft gang that used a Honda City car to steal villagers’ livestock, was busted in the Biwar police station area of Hamirpur on Tuesday.In this case police have arrested three accused, residents of Kanpur Nagar. Four stolen animals, one Honda City car, mobile phones, and cash were recovered from their possession.The police had received information from an informer about the presence of suspected cattle thieves in the area. Acting swiftly on the information, the police team cordoned off the area near Vibhuni village and apprehended all three suspects from the spot.During the search, a total of four animals, including two male goats and two female goats, were recovered from the possession of the accused. In addition, a Honda City car used in the incident, Rs 9,400 in cash, and three mobile phones (two Android and one keypad) were also seized.The arrested accused have been identified as Ayub (45), , Raja (32), and Gulfam alias Irfan (25), , in the house of Mannu Bhai, police station Maharajpur, Kanpur Nagar.
Police said that section 317 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been added to the cases registered against the arrested accused who were presented before the court after completing the legal proceedings as per rules, from where they were sent to jail in judicial custody.The police team involved in this action included sub-inspectors Ravindra, Jagat Narayan Yadav and Mohd Sultan.
