The Tehran-Washington ceasefire plan allows Iran and Oman to charge fees to ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, officials familiar with the matter told the Associated Press. What Iran Has Said

Iran’s position on Hormuz has been consistent as the country’s foreign minister Seyed Abbas Aragchi said ships could pass through the strait “via coordination with Iran’s armed forces." This will be a double-sided CEASEFIRE!"

How Markets Have Reacted

Brent crude crashed 20% on Tuesday, from a session high of $117.63 to $91.05- its biggest single-day collapse since Covid- as traders unwound the war premium built over forty days of conflict. Talks between the US and Iran begin in Islamabad on April 10. Iran arrives with its ten-point plan intact, which beyond Hormuz fees demands full US military withdrawal from the region, sanctions relief, war reparations and all terms enshrined in a binding UN Security Council resolution. The two sides have two weeks to close a deal.
