The trailer for the upcoming drama shows the two main characters connected over their love for chocolate. While one works as an employee as a chocolatier at a famous chocolate shop, the other takes the lead as the new president. The trailer features the two getting into unlikely encounters again and again. Throughout the trailer, the two can be seen annoyed by each other’s behavior, and even admit that they are not each other’s type.
Even through all of this, why keep getting involved together in situations that push them to understand and test each other’s boundaries and form an unlikely bond.
About ‘Romantics Anonymous’
The drama is about the love for chocolate that two of the unlikeliest people share, and how it manages to connect them. What sets them apart is the fact that both suffer from their own demons that affect them in different ways. While Fujiwara Sosuke (played by Oguri Shun) has a problem with touching people due to germs, Lee Ha Na (played by Han Hyo Joo) has a problem with making eye contact with the people around her.
The other story that plays a pivotal role in the main character’s life is of Irene and Takada Hiroshi. While Irene works as a physician to Sosuke, she also takes on the role of a counselor for Ha Na to help her deal with her anxiety. Though tough on the outside, she also deals with issues of alcoholism herself. On the other hand, Hiroshi is the owner of a bar, who is best friends with Sosuke. Ha Na also ends up developing a major crush on him after a chance encounter.
The story of the upcoming drama is based on a French-Belgian romantic comedy film of the same name that was released in 2010. The drama will have 8 episodes in total and will air on the OTT platform Netflix on October 16.The cast for the show includes Oguri Shun, Han Hyo Joo, Akanishi Jin, Nakamura Yuri, Narita Ryo, Ito Ayumi, and many others.
