Kanpur: The JNT U-12 Cricket Tournament for Sigma Griplock Trophy was formally inaugurated at Kanpur South Ground on Sunday.Former UP Ranji Trophy player and member of the India A team Ankit Rajput expressed his gratitude to the JNT organisation and Kanpur Cricket Association for organising the event and said that the JNT was preparing new nursery of young cricketers.Director UPCA Riyasat Ali and SDM Maharajpur Vivek Kumar Mishra, present as the special guests, praised the JNT’s efforts for preparing the cricketers of future.All the matches will be of 25 overs each innings and matches will be played under floodlight said Sanjay Tiwari of the organisation.The programme, conducted by Ahmad Ali Khan Talib, concluded with colourful fireworks.IM Rohatgi president of JNT organisation, Prabod Sharma, Sanjay Shukla secretary, Amit Mishra, S N Singh and Sanjay Tiwari president & vice-president of KCA, Dinesh Singh, and others were present on the occasion.The teams were decided by the lottery and thereafter kits were delivered all the 12 teams. The teams participating in the tournament are – Liverpool, Goldi Spices, Purf, Prime Employment, Mapple Wood, SNK, Sigma Griplock, Oliver Brown, Balmol, Soloware UK, DKG Entertainment and Swastick Initernational.Monday’s fixture: Kanpur South A Ground- Goldi Masale V/s SNK XI Kanpur South B Ground- Swastik International v/s Sgima Grip lock XI at 6.30am.
