A student allegedly punched an invigilator after being caught cheating during an exam, sparking chaos inside the examination hall. CCTV footage shows the tense confrontation, during which the student repeatedly lashed out before being restrained by other students.

The incident was reported from an internal examination at Dr Malakareddy Homeopathic College in Kalaburagi, Karnataka.

The exam was for the subject Homoeopathic Materia Medica, and the student, identified as Shahbaz from Kerala, was caught using a mobile phone to copy answers.

Assistant Professor Shivaraj Kumar, who was on invigilation duty, confronted Shahbaz, seized his answer sheet, and asked him to leave the hall.

The footage shows Shahbaz briefly walking towards the exit before returning to strike the professor again. Other students immediately intervened to restrain him and prevent further violence.

“As of now, no formal police complaint has been filed by the assaulted faculty member," sources told India Today. An internal inquiry has been launched, and further action will depend on its findings.

College officials said Shahbaz’s parents were informed immediately following the incident. The administration has barred him from appearing in any further examinations at the institution.
