Kerala elections: Post-poll violence continues in Kannur; house attacked; car set ablaze in Payyannur

Incidents of post-election violence continued to be reported from parts of Kannur district in Kerala, with a house attack and arson in Payyannur in the early hours of Friday.

The residence of T. Purushothaman, a native of Mahadeva Gramam and a CPI(M) member, was targeted in the attack. According to him, he had not participated in the election campaign of UDF Independent candidate V. Kunhikrishnan, but had attended a book inauguration event of the candidate.
