Serbian legend Novak Djokovic celebrated moving into the semifinal of the ongoing US Open with a ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ dance following his triumph over American Taylor Fritz.

Djokovic, who posted a 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 win over the home hope, burst into a gig in a nod to his 8-year-old Tara.

“We are at home doing different choreographies, and this is one of them," the 38-year-old said.

“Hopefully I’ll make her smile when she wakes up in the morning," he added.

KPop Demon Hunters is a movie presented by Sony Pictures and Netflix, and has jumped to the top of the charts in the streaming service’s global rankings.

Djokovic set up a blockbuster US Open semifinal clash with Carlos Alcaraz and kept his bid for a record 25th Grand Slam firmly on track.

Earlier in the day, Alcaraz, the 2022 US Open champion, decisively defeated Jiri Lehecka to reach the semifinals without losing a single set in the ongoing tournament. The Spaniard triumphed 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 in the quarterfinals.

Djokovic and Alcaraz will face each other for the first time since the Australian Open quarterfinals in January, where the Serbian won in four sets, leading their rivalry 5-3.

Djokovic immediately broke Fritz in a lively Arthur Ashe Stadium, quickly achieving a 3-0 lead in the first set. He reached set point on Fritz’s serve in the eighth game. Although Fritz resisted and applied pressure by earning five break points in the following game, he failed to convert them. Djokovic relied on his signature determination to thwart Fritz, including in a remarkable 25-stroke rally.

Djokovic eventually won the set, but Fritz created more opportunities in the fourth and sixth games of the second set. His inability to capitalize allowed Djokovic to seize the initiative by breaking for a 4-3 advantage. Fritz broke back when Djokovic was serving for a two-set lead, only to lose his serve with a double fault in the next game.

Djokovic did not miss the chance to secure the set and mockingly blew kisses to the crowd as he walked to his chair. However, he became agitated with the pro-Fritz support urging their player back into the match, prompting Djokovic to ask the umpire to do more to quiet the crowd.

Djokovic’s focus briefly wavered, and Fritz broke to move 3-1 ahead, forcing a fourth set. The set continued on serve until Djokovic reached two match points, with Fritz trying to stay in the game. Fritz scrambled to save both, but Djokovic got another opportunity, and the American double-faulted, securing Djokovic’s place in the last four.
