Djokovic and Alcaraz will face each other for the first time since the Australian Open quarterfinals in January, where the Serbian won in four sets, leading their rivalry 5-3.

Djokovic immediately broke Fritz in a lively Arthur Ashe Stadium, quickly achieving a 3-0 lead in the first set. He reached set point on Fritz’s serve in the eighth game. Although Fritz resisted and applied pressure by earning five break points in the following game, he failed to convert them. Djokovic’s focus briefly wavered, and Fritz broke to move 3-1 ahead, forcing a fourth set. The set continued on serve until Djokovic reached two match points, with Fritz trying to stay in the game. Fritz scrambled to save both, but Djokovic got another opportunity, and the American double-faulted, securing Djokovic’s place in the last four.
