Panaji: Light to moderate rainfall over the last 24 hours brought some relief from the Sep heat as Sanquelim recorded the highest rainfall of 22.8mm till Sunday morning.Among the other centres, Old Goa recorded 16.4mm, Pernem 12.8mm, Dharbandora 11.3mm, Mapusa 10.2mm, Panaji 9.6mm, Sanguem 6.5mm and other centres on a lesser scale.The figures of Valpoi, Ponda, Margao and Quepem were not available. Hence, the daily average of the last 24-hour rainfall was not available.But the seasonal total has already crossed 2,947.9mm, as compared to the normal of 2,844.4mm – a surplus of 3.6%.Sunday’s rainfall followed a dry spell in which no rain was received on Tuesday and Wednesday and just 0.7mm on Thursday and 0.4mm on Friday.As per IMD bulletin, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is likely at a few places on Sunday and Monday. Subsequently, there will be rain in the same intensity but in only isolated places.
