Superstar Mammootty and director Vysakh’s 2024 action entertainer 'Turbo' became one of the biggest box office successes of the year. Written by Midhun Manuel Thomas, the movie gave audiences a high-voltage action ride.

Now, months after its theatrical release, the makers have dropped something unexpected, the unreleased promo song titled 'Turbo Jose'.Mammootty himself took to X (formerly Twitter) to unveil the track, writing: “Here is the Unreleased #TurboJose Promo Song.” The song is composed and produced by Sekhar Menon with lyrics penned by Street Academics, ItsPC, and Greesh. Unfortunately, netizens seem to be not impressed by the unreleased track.

Mixed reactions flood social media

One social media user sarcastically wrote, “ കേട്ട് തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോഴേ....... നിർത്തി (what a song! I stopped it at the start itself.)” Another added, “ഇത് ആദ്യമേ ഇറക്കിയരുന്നെഗിൽ turbo ആരും കാണില്ല ആയിരുന്നു (If this song was unveiled earlier, people would not have watched 'Turbo').”Some even pulled in old references, with one quipping: “Love in Singapore?”—pointing to Mammootty’s film 'Love in Singapore', which had been widely trolled.

Others were more direct in their criticism, with comments like “Next meme material” and “Good thing that you guys didn't release this earlier.”

Directed by Vysakh, 'Turbo' courted decent reviews from the audiences. One of the highlights of the Mammootty starrer was a high-octane car chase sequence. Although there were some criticisms for the story written by Midhun Manuel Thomas, 'Turbo' turned out to be a profitable venture, especially due to it's intriguing execution and action sequences.

On the other hand, Mammootty who recently made a healthy recovery, took to his Instagram handle on his birthday to share gratitude towards fans. Sharing a snap on his special day, the 'Patriot' actor wrote, "Love and Thanks to All and The Almighty."Up next, Mammootty has the most awaited thriller film 'Kalamkaval' in the pipeline. The movie has Vinayakan in one of the lead roles.
