A man attacked a fouryearold child in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Monday following a personal dispute. CCTV footage shows the accused forcibly pulling the child out of a parked autorickshaw and repeatedly slamming him to the ground, leaving the child critically injured.

On Monday evening, around 7.30 pm, the child was playing when he sat inside a rickshaw belonging to Sandeep Pawar, a rickshaw driver living in the same society. Pawar arrived, chased away other children and then attacked the fouryearold.

Pawar forcefully struck the boy's head against a metal part of the rickshaw, pulled his legs, threw him on the ground headfirst and dragged him to the first-floor stairs where he continued the assault.

The child's grandmother intervened but was also assaulted by Pawar. The entire incident was captured on the society's CCTV cameras. The boy was rushed to Wockhardt Hospital and is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit. His condition remains critical.

Following the assault, Vasai Police registered a case against Sandeep Pawar under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Juvenile Justice Act. Pawar has been arrested in connection with the case.

According to the police, a minor dispute had taken place a few days earlier between society resident Atul Kondhare and Sandeep Pawar, who also lives in the same complex.

Despite the severity of his actions, Pawar reportedly showed no remorse. He was heard admitting to carrying out the attack as an act of revenge and justified his behaviour in front of society members.
