Michael Fassbender in talks to join Brady Corbet's film

Actor Michael Fassbender is in negotiations to feature in Brady Corbet's next film.The mystery-shrouded feature is rumoured to be titled "The Origin of the World", according to the entertainment news outlet Variety.

It also marks Corbet's follow-up to his highly acclaimed film “The Brutalist".There are no details about the film, but the filmmaker has mentioned in an earlier interview that the project will be an X-rated movie taking place mostly in the 1970s."The film spans from the 19th century into the present day — it’s just predominantly focused on the ’70s. The film is really, really genre-defying," he said.The film is produced by David Kaplan and Andrew Morrison under the production banner Kaplan Morrison.Fassbender had his breakthrough with the role of Bobby Sands in the drama "Hunger", which released in 2008. He is also known for featuring in projects such as "12 Years a Slave" and "Steve Jobs", among others.His latest work is "Black Bag", which released in 2025. The film also starred Cate Blanchett and revolved around Kathryn Woodhouse, an intelligence agent, who is suspected of betraying the country. Fassbender essayed the role of her husband, George.He will next feature in "Hope". The film will have its worldwide premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 17.
