Milk prices to increase in Jaipur from today

Jaipur: The Jaipur Zila Dugdh Utpadak Sahakari Sangh Ltd Wednesday announced a Rs 2-per-litre hike in Saras milk prices in Jaipur and Dausa districts, effective from the evening of May 21, citing rising production and operational costs.According to an official release, the revised rates will apply to all milk variants distributed by the cooperative. Prices of milk-based products, including curd and paneer, have also been increased from the same date.Under the revised rates, Saras Toned Milk (blue packet) will now cost Rs 56 per litre, up from Rs 54. Standard Milk will be priced at Rs 62 per litre instead of Rs 60, while Saras Gold Milk will cost Rs 70 per litre, up from Rs 68.

The price of Double Toned Milk has been raised to Rs 48 per litre.A spokesperson for Jaipur Dairy said livestock farmers are facing rising expenses on cattle feed, fodder, electricity, medicines and maintenance.“In view of the increasing input costs, Jaipur Dairy has raised the milk procurement price by Rs 25 per kilogram of fat. Milk producers will now receive Rs 875 per kilogram of fat, compared to the earlier Rs 850,” the spokesperson said.
