A gang of four habitual vehicle thieves has been arrested by the Miyapur Police following an investigation into a series of bike thefts across Hyderabad and Cyberabad.
The accused, identified as 24-year-old Yenku Srikanth; 23-year-old Kumbha Venkateshwarlu alias Venky or Stuvart; 20-year-old Nallagonda Venu, and 23-year-old Yeruva Gangadhar Srinivas Akhil Reddy, were linked to numerous theft cases.
The investigation was initiated after a resident reported the theft of his bike from outside his rented accommodation in RTC Colony, Miyapur, on the night of June 10. The vehicle was stolen within a two-hour window.
The gang was found to be involved in at least 15 cases of vehicle and property theft across various police jurisdictions, including Miyapur, Chandanagar, Choutuppal, R.C. Puram, Begumpet, Madhapur, and KPHB in 2025. Their loot includes a wide range of two-wheelers as well as construction material such as centring boxes.
The police said that the group consumed alcohol and cannabis before stealing vehicles. Venkateshwarlu, a trained bike mechanic since childhood, exploited his technical skills to bypass locks and immobilisers.
