Nita Ambani Greets Americans On 250 Years Of Independence, Celebrates Shared Values With India

Nita Ambani made the remarks while accepting the AAPI Humanitarian Award in Florida, where she also lauded the Indian-American community.

Reliance Foundation Founder and Chairperson Nita Ambani extended greetings to Americans and the Indian community in the US on the country’s 250th Independence anniversary, calling the occasion an opportunity to celebrate the shared values of India and the United States.

She made the remarks while accepting the AAPI Humanitarian Award in Florida, where she described the honour as especially meaningful as it came during a historic weekend for the US.

“This weekend, America marks 250 years of its independence. On this joyous occasion, I am joined by Mukesh, our children, and the entire Reliance family in extending our heartfelt felicitations to all our sisters and brothers in America," Nita Ambani said.

Calling herself “an Indian woman on American soil" during a historic moment, Nita Ambani said the occasion was not only about receiving an award but also about honouring “what this movement means for our two great democracies".

She accepted the award with humility and gratitude, dedicating the honour to the Reliance Foundation team. Humanitarian work, she noted, is never achieved by one person alone, but by “many hands" that heal, teach, comfort and work quietly to improve lives.

“At Reliance Foundation, our guiding philosophy is very simple. We care. We care about our people, we care about India, we care about our planet," Nita Ambani said.

She also lauded the Indian-American community for preserving Indian culture while making significant contributions to American society. Referring to physicians of Indian origin, Nita Ambani said they had earned widespread respect in the US through their professional excellence and commitment to patient care.

The AAPI Humanitarian Award recognises Nita Ambani’s contributions across healthcare, education, sports, culture and community development, as well as her commitment to serving society with compassion, dignity and purpose.

In another recognition of her humanitarian work, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor presented Nita Ambani with the Key to the City of Tampa, one of the highest civic honours in the United States.

The symbolic honour represents the city’s gratitude and its tradition of opening its doors to individuals whose contributions have made a meaningful impact on humanity.
