In a heart-wrenching interview with India Today, Madan Ina, the mother of 23-year-old Sahil, who was killed in a Delhi hit-and-run, expressed her devastation and anger over what she described as systemic failures following the tragedy. Sahil was struck by a speeding Scorpio allegedly driven by a 17-year-old boy performing stunts for Instagram reels in Dwarka.

Ina recounted the horrific scene, stating, “My child was lying on the road for two hours. The ambulance was standing there, but they didn’t take him to the hospital.”

She criticised the police response and the legal loopholes that allowed the minor accused to receive bail for his board exams despite 13 pending challans on the vehicle for over-speeding.

Ina, a single mother, rejected any talk of compensation and demanded stricter laws for hit-and-run cases, along with accountability for the parents of reckless minors. The report also highlights allegations that threats were made against the family to silence their pursuit of justice.
