Kerala Family Suicide: The police said severe financial difficulties may have pushed the family to take the extreme step.

Two people were found dead while two others remain in critical condition after a family of four in Kerala’s Thrissur allegedly attempted suicide amid suspected financial distress, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Sibi (50) and his 18-year-old daughter Aleena, residents of Pazhanji in Thrissur district. According to police, Sibi’s body was recovered from a well near the family’s residence, while Aleena was found hanging inside the house.
Sibi’s wife, Beena (45), and their 17-year-old son, Adithyan, were found unconscious and were rushed to a hospital, where they are undergoing treatment in critical condition.
Police said they reached the house on Monday morning after receiving a distress call from Adithyan.
Investigators suspect that the family consumed poison as part of the alleged suicide attempt. Preliminary findings indicate that severe financial difficulties may have pushed the family to take the extreme step.
According to police, Sibi had recently returned from the Gulf after losing his job and had been facing financial hardship.
The bodies have been shifted to Kunnamkulam Taluk Hospital for postmortem examination and will be handed over to the family after the legal formalities are completed.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the incident.
