Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran is seeking to end the ongoing war “with dignity," while asserting that no country has the right to deprive Iran of its nuclear rights.
According to multiple media reports, Pezeshkian stressed that Iran’s demands are rooted in fairness and equal treatment among nations.
“No one has the right to deprive us of our nuclear rights, and what we demand is to be treated on the basis of equity among all peoples."
Pezeshkian said Iran’s core stance is focused on maintaining regional peace, stability, and security, adding that Tehran has not sought to initiate conflict.
“Our fundamental stance is based on preserving peace, stability, and security in the region."
“We are not seeking to expand the circle of war, nor have we initiated any wars or conflicts."
The Iranian President also said the country does not intend to attack any nation and is acting within its legal and legitimate right to defend itself.
“We do not intend to attack any country, and we are exercising our legal and legitimate right to self-defence."
Pezeshkian also alleged that Iran’s adversaries failed to achieve their objectives and violated international law by targeting civilian infrastructure.
“The enemy failed to achieve its goals, violated international laws, and attacked infrastructure, schools, and hospitals."
The remarks come as Iran reiterates its position that it is not looking to widen the conflict while maintaining what it calls its lawful rights.
