Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday asserted that the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has fulfilled ‘99%’ of the promises and guarantees made to the people before the elections.

Addressing a massive public meeting at Pipri in Adilabad district, held amid sweltering heat, to mark the third anniversary of his People’s March, when he was a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader, he said the government was committed to spending every paisa solely on public welfare.

“We are running a humane government. None of us has a personal agenda — not the Chief Minister, not myself, nor our Cabinet colleagues. People’s needs and aspirations are our only agenda,” Mr. Vikramarka said.

Drawing a contrast with past governments, he said that unlike political parties that forget their promises after coming to power, the Congress leadership had listened to people’s grievances during public outreach programmes while in the Opposition and continued the same approach after assuming office. He said mechanisms had been put in place to assess the impact of welfare measures on people’s lives.

“Both the Chief Minister and the Ministers hail from villages and are well aware of the hardships faced by farmers and the poor. We are working as servants of the people, not as feudal lords enjoying power. The foundation stones laid today for various works reflect our responsibility towards the people,” the Deputy CM remarked.

Highlighting various welfare initiatives, he cited the establishment of integrated schools for children from all communities under one roof, the breakfast and mid-day meal scheme for students, free bus travel for women, ₹1 lakh crore in interest-free loans to self-help groups, the Rythu Bharosa scheme, free power up to 200 units and other programmes.

Mr. Vikramarka pointed out that the government had allocated ₹10,000 crore for the free bus scheme for women alone, while up to 4.5 lakh two-bedroom houses were being constructed at an estimated cost of more than ₹5,000 crore across constituencies.

District in-charge Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) and president Mahesh Kumar Goud also addressed the gathering. Adilabad MP G. Nagesh, Boath MLA Anil Jhadav and Mancherial MLA Premsagar Rao urged the government to sanction additional funds for roads, irrigation projects, sports facilities and degree colleges in the region. Rajya Sabha MP Vem Narender Reddy, Khanapur MLA V. Bhojji, Vemulawada Adi Srinivas and others were present.
