Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday chaired a high-level review meeting with senior officials to ensure robust law and order, communal harmony, and appropriate public amenities during the upcoming festivals the state.

In order to maintain law and order in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Adityanath issued clear instructions that all religious events must be conducted with devotion, safety, and social harmony.

The Chief Minister said there is a conspiracy to spread communal conflict and urged authorities to expose anti-social elements. He expressed serious concern over incidents in Kaushambi, Etawah, and Auraiya. “Do not wait for orders from the government to take action; act promptly and lawfully," directed the Chief Minister.

The Hindu month of Shravan will be observed from July 11 to August 9, during which traditional Kanwar Yatra, Shravani Shivratri, Nag Panchami, and Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated. Additionally, Jagannath Rath Yatra is expected between June 27 and July 8, and Muharram between June 27 and July 7.

The Chief Minister has issued clear directions in the wake of the Kanwar Yatra, Muharram, and Rath Yatra. The instructions are as follows:

  • There should be no open sale of meat along the Kanwar Yatra routes.
  • The height of Tazia and Rath must not exceed the prescribed limit.
  • Sound levels of DJs, drums, and other instruments will be regulated.
  • There will be special surveillance on anti-social elements within the crowd of devotees to ensure no infiltration in disguise.
  • Special focus on crowd management, cleanliness, and traffic control at Shiva temples, with the Chief Minister personally monitoring preparations every Monday.
  • There will be strict surveillance on disruptive elements in the crowd, ensuring no infiltration by people in disguise.
  • In Muharram processions, security and dialogue will be priorities, urging all to learn from past incidents.
  • Districts that perform unsatisfactorily on the CM helpline and IGRS have been instructed to improve public service, emphasising public interest above all.
  • The Chief Minister also called for the school pairing process to be completed transparently and smoothly.
