No rainwater harvesting system: Rs 30,000 fine on commercial property

Indore: Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on a commercial property on Tuesday for failing to install a rainwater harvesting (RWH) system despite receiving prior statutory notices.IMC commissioner Kshitij Singhal told TOI that during inspection in MG Road area under Zone 11, Ward 55, a municipal team found that owners of Megapolis Multi Khandelwal House had failed to construct the mandatory RWH and water recharge pits within the stipulated timeframe, violating earlier notices. The civic body penalized the owners under Indore Municipal Corporation (Rainwater Harvesting) Bylaws, 2022, he said.
