Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the Meerut Metro and Namo Bharat train at Shatabdi Nagar Namo Bharat station on Sunday.

Meerut Metro will cover a 21-kilometer stretch from Meerut South to Modipuram, stopping at 12 stations and completing the journey in just 30 minutes. For the first time in India, the metro and Namo Bharat will run on the same track.

The three-coach stainless steel train sets will be lightweight and energy-efficient, featuring regenerative braking systems, automatic train protection (ATP), and automatic train operation (ATO) technologies.

Each AC train will have a capacity of over 700 passengers, including 173 seats.

PM Modi will inaugurate the Meerut Metro services between Meerut South and Modipuram.

PM Modi is also set to undertake a metro ride till Meerut South station and at around 1 pm. Furthermore, PM will also inaugurate and dedicate to the nation various development projects worth around Rs 12,930 crore in Meerut.
