Ongole GGH creates awareness on TB prevention, treatment

On the occasion of World Tuberculosis (TB) Day, an awareness programme was organised by the Pulmonology Department at Government General Hospital (GGH), in Ongole on Tuesday. The event was held under the chairmanship of Pulmonology Department Head Dr. Ramaswamy.

Several doctors and nursing staff participated in the programme. Addressing the gathering, GGH Superintendent Dr. S. Manikyarao said, “TB is a completely curable disease. Patients should take the medicines prescribed by the doctors regularly and continue the treatment without stopping it.”

GGH Civil Surgeon Resident Medical Officer Dr. Madhulatha said that it is very important to raise awareness about TB disease, especially among the elderly, and to use only the medicines prescribed by the doctors.

Dr. Ranjit Basha, Dr. Sambasivarao, Dr. Kumar Verma and other staff of the Pulmonology Department participated in this programme. People were made aware of the types of TB and precautions to be taken in daily life.
