P. Jayarajan’s life a story of resistance against communal forces: Pinarayi Vijayan

Leader of the Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan has said that senior Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] leader P. Jayarajan has a history of fighting communal elements and described Mr. Jayarajan’s latest book, Sanathanikalude Hindutva Vazhikal, as a vital contribution to that struggle.

Mr. Vijayan was speaking after releasing the book here on Wednesday (May 20, 2026). He said it was extraordinary that Mr. Jayarajan, despite enduring years of personal attacks, had survived those experiences and gone on to write such a book. Mr. Vijayan said it was commendable that Mr. Jayarajan found time to produce a work with a research-oriented approach. He added that the book would inspire the younger generation and contribute to anti-communal struggles.

Mr. Vijayan said the country was going through a period in which communal forces were attempting to destroy the unity of the people.

Shubhangananda Swami, general secretary of Sivagiri Trust, received the first copy of the book. CPI(M) district secretary K.K. Ragesh presided.
