Mixed reviews for Navya Nair's film

The film received varied responses during its theatrical run. The ETimes review highlighted both strengths and weak spots. It noted, “Navya deserved to be trusted with this role, which she portrayed with levity, except that in some places she veered off course.”

On Soubin’s role, the review added, “Soubin didn’t have much to do. Hareesh could have been anyone, only because his character lacks distinctive quirks that would make it something only Soubin Shahir could pull off.”The critique further observed, “There is definitely an arc, but nothing that demands much from the actor himself — though he was, of course, good.”

Strong supporting cast and technical direction

Apart from the leads, 'Paathirathri' features Sunny Wayne, Ann Augustine, Athmiya Rajan, and Pooja Mohanraj in supporting roles. The film is written by Shaji Maarad. Although 'Paathirathri' was not as groundbreaking as Ratheena's directorial debut 'Puzhu' starring Mammootty in the lead, the thriller movie was said to be a decent one time watch for those who love intriguing cop dramas.
