A major tragedy was averted in Goa on Monday after a parasailing cable suddenly snapped while a tourist was mid-air. The tourist suddenly fell into the sea, and the crew members of the boat were able to rescue him.

In the clip, a man is seen parasailing at the Baga Beach in Goa. The thrilling experience turned frightening when the rope snapped mid-air, and the tourist fell into the sea. The tourist was reportedly wearing a life jacket.

As the cable snapped, the woman accompanying him could be heard screaming and panicking in the boat, urging staff members to help.

As per the reports, the tourism department has sought a full report on the incident and has warned of strict action, including licence suspension, if negligence is found.

Meanwhile, the Goa Police are investigating the matter.

Past Incidents In India

Several accidents involving adventure sports in India took place in 2025, leading to several deaths and injuries.

In October 2025, a man fell into Uttarakhand’s Tehri Lake during a paragliding training program. The event was organised by the state tourism department. The 26-year-old trainee lost control during the landing and fell into the water. Fortunately, he was rescued.

In July last year, A 25-year-old tourist from Gujarat’s Ahmedabad died after his paraglider crashed at a take-off site in Himachal Pradesh’s Indrunag.
