Patna's District Magistrate has urged officials to accelerate over 30 state and central projects, emphasizing the need for swift resolution of local issues. Key infrastructure developments, including the Patna Metro's priority corridor and the Danapur-Bihta elevated corridor, are progressing.
Patna: District magistrate (DM) Thiyagarajan S M directed officials and executing agencies to expedite implementation of over 30 state and central projects during a meeting on Tuesday.
The DM said that while progress across the district is satisfactory, sub-divisional officers and police officials must remain active to resolve any local issues.The district administration is currently implementing a wide range of infrastructure projects involving agencies such as NHAI, Patna metro, railways, and road construction department.To maintain momentum, the DM ordered immediate relocation of structures obstructing project alignments and removal of encroachments in accordance with legal procedures.
He tasked the deputy development commissioner and additional district magistrates to conduct regular joint inspections of project sites to address issues related to land acquisition and technical coordination on the ground.Regarding the Patna metro rail project, the DM was informed that the ‘priority corridor’ from Patliputra bus terminal to Malahi Pakri is progressing without land acquisition delays.At the meeting, the Danapur-Bihta elevated corridor was highlighted as a critical project to improve regional connectivity.
Land acquisition has been completed across 22 villages, and the administration has already disbursed Rs187.34 crore to 952 landowners. In the last 15 days alone, over Rs2 crore as compensation was distributed to local farmers to facilitate the construction of this corridor.For the Patna ring road and Patna-Ara-Sasaram NH-119A projects, the DM said the compensation should be expedited. Special camps will be organised in Bihta and Maner from Feb 12 to 17 to collect applications and process payments for the Kanhauli-Sherpur section.
Circle officers have been instructed to issue land possession certificates during these camps to prevent procedural delays.Executive agencies have been told to submit specific dates for required police and magistrate deployments to the district control room in advance.The DM said the timely completion of these development and welfare schemes is the administration’s highest priority. All nodal officers and regional authorities were reminded to submit weekly progress reports and maintain close coordination to ensure that the projects announced during the CM’s Pragati Yatra are executed without delay.
