Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has urged pilgrims to obtain legal Hajj permits through authorised channels, aiming to ensure a safe and hassle-free journey.

According to the ministry, permits must be obtained through authorised channels to ensure a carefully planned and hassle-free journey.

“Obtaining a Hajj Visa and an official permit are mandatory for performing Hajj and entering the Holy Sites," the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah posted on ‘X’, adding that other visit visas do not authorise Hajj.

In a separate post, the ministry wrote: “A Hajj permit is an essential requirement for performing Hajj", citing the principles of Sharia — the fundamental Islamic law, derived from the holy book of Quran.

The ministry cautioned pilgrims against engaging with unauthorised channels to obtain Hajj permits or visas, highlighting that doing so could invite legal consequences.

It stated that availing visas through proper and authorised channels ensure service access, guaranteeing a safer and effective journey.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah issued a helpline number to extend assistance to pilgrims in: 1. Information and general enquiries, 2. Complaints and incident reports, and 3. Pilgrim guidance and assistance.
