Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Norwegian counterpart, Jonas Gahr Støre, attended a business conclave in Oslo, witnessing a frank exchange with stakeholders from both the business and research sectors.
Underlining a range of opportunities in areas such as food security, fertilisers, fisheries, and energy, PM Modi pitched India to the investors of Norway during discussions.
In a post on ‘X’, PM Modi wrote, “In Oslo City Hall, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and I attended a business and research summit. It was a pleasant occasion to engage with stakeholders from both the business sector and research environments. Our countries have excellent opportunities for collaboration in areas such as food security, fertilizers, fisheries, and energy."

The Prime Minister highlighted India’s ‘reform agenda’ as he invited the stakeholders to invest in various sectors across the country.
“I invited Norway to invest in India’s focus on clean energy. I also spoke in favor of India’s reform agenda. Shipbuilding is an area that offers great and unlimited possibilities", he wrote.
The event saw the presence of industry leaders and CEOs of leading Norwegian firms such as Orkla, Yara and Equinor, which possess a significant stake in Indian markets. PM Modi Five-Nation Visit LIVE
PM Modi’s Norway Visit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Norway on Monday, where he met the country’s PM Jonas Gahr Støre and discussed a range of subjects to bolster ties and cooperation across sectors.
During the meeting, both countries entered into a Green Strategic Partnership and Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative. PM Modi also thanked Norway for standing with India on terrorism after the Pahalgam attack.
“Held fruitful talks with PM Jonas Gahr Støre in Oslo. One of the key highlights was the upgrading of our bilateral partnership to a Green Strategic Partnership, which will deepen synergy in clean energy, sustainable growth, the blue economy, green shipping and more. We also talked about boosting linkages in innovation, research, education, healthcare, skill development and more. It is gladdening to see Norway join the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative", PM Modi wrote in a post on ‘X’.
PM Modi’s visit to Norway is significant as it is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country in 43 years.
