Ponnam announces 11% fitment implementation for RTC workers

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Thursday said that the government is implementing the 11% fitment to workers of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), as was promised.

The announcement comes ahead of the TGSRTC union elections.

Mr Prabhakar said that the government’s decision would bring relief in terms of finances to thousands of workers and employees of the TGSRTC and their families. He acknowledged the services of the workers who stood by the TGSRTC in difficult times. He added that the Praja Palana government took this this decision with keeping in mind workers’ welfare.

“Strengthening the RTC, ensuring employee welfare, and providing better services to passengers is the goal of our government,” he said.
