A 25-year-old woman, who is four months pregnant, in Bihar's Muzaffarpur was allegedly raped under the pretext of exorcism. The woman was reportedly taken to a local exorcist by her father-in-law after she began experiencing health issues.

The exorcist asked the father-in-law to wait outside, took the woman into a room, and raped her. Out of fear and social stigma, she initially remained silent.

However, the accused repeated the act a second time. On the third visit, the exorcist, along with two accomplices, allegedly gang-raped her.

The incident came to light after the woman’s health deteriorated, and her family members were informed. The victim has been admitted to Shree Krishna Medical College and Hospital.

A case has been registered based on the woman's complaint. Further investigation and legal action are underway, said police.

In another incident from Muzaffarpur, a minor was raped and subsequently assaulted on May 26. The girl was lured with a chocolate near her aunt's house and taken to a maize field in Muzaffarpur, where she was raped.

The rape victim was referred to Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH), where she was made to wait for five hours after registration, a day before she died.

The deceased girl’s uncle, Virendra Paswan, alleged that they were made to wait in the ambulance with the child for two hours, but the hospital administration did not admit her. He claimed that if the girl had been admitted to PMCH in time, her life could have been saved.
