A pro-Khalistan protester was detained by police after allegedly breaching security and rushing onto the stage during Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in San Francisco, California, over the weekend.
Videos of the incident are widely being shared on social media, showing the man making his way onto the stage before being intercepted by security personnel and law enforcement officers.
The disruption occurred during Dosanjh’s sold-out Aura World Tour performance at San Francisco’s Chase Centre, one of two back-to-back shows scheduled at the venue.
Footage circulating online shows the individual climbing onto the stage area before being restrained and escorted away.

Additional videos shared online appear to show the man being detained by police officers as concertgoers watched.
According to social media posts, the individual was removed from the venue and later taken into police custody.
The incident temporarily interrupted the concert but did not bring the event to a halt.
The San Francisco incident comes against the backdrop of several disruptions involving pro-Khalistan activists at Dosanjh’s overseas concerts in recent months.
In April, a concert during the singer’s Aura 2026 tour in Canada was briefly disrupted after a group of supporters raised pro-Khalistan slogans and waved separatist flags inside the venue.
Reports said security personnel intervened and removed the protesters, allowing the concert to continue.
Separately, videos from a Calgary concert showed Dosanjh pausing his performance after spotting pro-Khalistan flags in the crowd.
The singer reportedly objected to attempts to politicise the event and urged attendees not to turn a music concert into a platform for political messaging.
The singer has also faced threats from extremist elements in the past.
Reports in 2025 said the pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) had threatened to disrupt one of his concerts in Australia over remarks and actions they objected to.
Meanwhile, an IANS report, citing Khalsa Vox, argued that Khalistani extremism has damaged the image of the overwhelmingly law-abiding Sikh diaspora across countries such as Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.
The report stated that extremist elements have attempted to use religious and community institutions abroad to advance separatist agendas, while the overwhelming majority of Sikhs reject violence and terrorism.
It also referred to concerns over the glorification of figures linked to the 1985 Air India Flight 182 bombing, which killed 329 people.
