Light rain and overcast skies brought relief from the scorching heat across parts of Delhi-NCR on Saturday morning, ending days of intense heatwave conditions.
Several parts of Delhi witnessed light showers, while rain was also reported from neighbouring Noida. In Ghaziabad, cloudy skies and cool winds provided respite to residents struggling with soaring temperatures.
The change in weather led to a slight drop in temperatures after the region experienced extreme heat over the past few days.

The weather department has forecast the maximum temperature to remain between 43 and 45 degrees Celsius on Saturday, while temperatures are likely to rise further to 44-46 degrees Celsius between Sunday and May 28.
Regional Weather Forecasting Centre (RWFC) said many areas across Delhi-NCR, along with parts of Haryana and Rajasthan, are expected to witness dust storms and thundershowers.
The RWFC specifically named Sonipat, Kharkhoda, Charkhi Dadri, Mattanhail, Jhajjar, Farukhnagar, Kosali, Sohna, Rewari, Palwal, Nuh and Aurangabad in Haryana, as well as Bhiwadi in Rajasthan, among the areas likely to be affected.
Authorities urged residents to remain alert during thunderstorm activity, warning that strong winds and lightning could temporarily affect visibility and disrupt traffic movement. People were also advised not to take shelter under trees or weak structures during gusty conditions.
Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 29.3 degrees Celsius on Friday, which was three notches above normal. However, the IMD did not classify it as a “warm night", a category declared when the maximum temperature crosses 40 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature stays at least 4.5 degrees above normal.
On Thursday, the national capital recorded the season’s first warm night, with the minimum temperature settling at 31.9 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal. It was also the hottest May night in Delhi since May 27, 2012, when the minimum temperature stood at 34.2 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has predicted the minimum temperature to stay between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius on Saturday and between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius on Monday.
