Ram Charan's sports drama 'Peddi' faces potential delay from its April 30 release. Distributors were asked to halt advance bookings, fueling speculation about production delays and unfinished scenes. There has been a lot of buzz regarding the release of Ram Charan’s sports action drama, ‘Peddi’, as reports have been circulating that the film might get further delayed from the announced date of April 30.
Amidst these talks, the makers seem to have told distributors not to open advance bookings yet.
Advance bookings stopped
A North American distributor, Prathyangira Cinemas, shared in a X (formerly Twitter) post that they were asked to hold bookings that were supposed to start on April 9. This made fans feel that the film is not ready yet. The delay talk became stronger after this update.
According to an India Today report, two songs and some important scenes are still left to be shot and due to this, the team needs more time.
At the same time, the ongoing Indian Premier League also seems to be a reason for the date being pushed, as many people in the country watch matches in the evening, so the makers do not want to release the film now. They feel it may affect the film’s opening. Now, the team is looking at a release after the IPL ends.
June is being considered as a possible time. This is also a holiday season, so more people may come to theatres. The makers want to pick the right date and then make an official announcement.
Ram Charan shares confidence in timely release
A couple of days ago, Ram Charan promoted the movie ‘Rakasa’, which has been produced by his cousin Niharika Konidela. In a video shared by the makers, the team can be seen in a casual round table discussion with the actor, where Ram Charan can be seen stating, “Promote your film well, Peddi won’t be late.”
About ‘Peddi’
Speaking about the film, ‘Peddi’ is a village based sport action drama movie which primarily revolves around a cricket tournament. The movie stars Bollywood’s Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead and also includes Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu and Boman Irani among other actors. The music is composed by AR Rahman.As of now, it is said to be released on April 30.
