Realtor kidnapped, rescued within hours by police

The Vijayanagar police nabbed four persons allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a realtor in the city on December 6 night.

The rescue took place within hours of Lokesh being kidnapped for ransom by a gang. According to the police, the realtor was headed home on his two-wheeler that night when he received a call. He stopped to receive it but a few miscreants who had followed him on a four-wheeler assaulted him, threw chilli powder on his eyes, bundled him into their vehicle, and sped away. The victim was made to call his wife and the gang members demanded a ransom.

But Lokesh’s wife informed the Vijayanagar police, which swung into action, traced their location, and nabbed them near Hampapura in K.R. Nagar taluk. The accused were identified as Santosh, Prajwal, Darshan, and Abhishek. One more accomplice, Pritam, is absconding and police efforts are under way to nab him.
