Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar on Saturday (June 13, 2026) stated that the safety and security of women and children remain the top priority of the Sri Sathya Sai district police.

The SP was addressing the “Operation Dandayan,” a special awareness initiative launched to prevent crimes against women and children, at Obula Devara Cheruvu near Puttaparthi. The campaign began with an awareness rally at the Valmiki statue circle, culminating in a public address at the Vasishta School ground.

The SP noted that mothers play a crucial role in safeguarding girl children, urging parents to maintain surveillance over their children. He advised women to make use of Anganwadi centres and other support systems provided by the government in their respective areas.

Highlighting the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Mr. Satish Kumar warned that those involved in crimes against children cannot escape legal action. The SP called for broader public cooperation in preventing crimes against women and children.

Former Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy hailed the police department’s efforts. “Awareness plays a vital role in strengthening women’s safety and public confidence,” he said.

Police officials, public representatives, Anganwadi and ASHA workers, volunteers, and local residents participated in the programme.
