Officials and office bearers of farmers’ and various industry associations on Wednesday called on Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay at the Secretariat in Chennai.

State Election Commissioner P. Jothi Nirmalasamy called on Mr. Vijay and held discussions with him. Members of the Tamil Nadu Cauvery Vivasayigal Sangam, led by the association’s general secretary P.R. Pandian, also met the Chief Minister. They discussed issues related to the agriculture sector and submitted a memorandum.

Separately, Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) former president T. Rajkumar, The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) vice-president Ravi Sam, Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) president Ashwin Chandran, and other office-bearers of SIMA met Mr. Vijay and held discussions regarding the textile industry in Tamil Nadu, electricity tariffs for textile units and the implementation of the Tamil Nadu New Integrated Textile Policy 2026.

Further, office bearers of the Tamil Nadu Small and Tiny Industries Association (TANSTIA), including its president S. Vasudevan, general secretary V. Nithyanantham, and treasurer P.N. Ragunatha Raja, also called on Mr. Vijay. They submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister highlighting the demands of micro, small and medium enterprises in the State and measures needed to strengthen them.

Aditya Ganesh, president (Southern Region); Subhakumar, former president (Southern Region), and other executives of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) also met Mr. Vijay.
