Even as a fragile ceasefire between Iran and the United States remains in place, Tehran has escalated its war of words, this time through satire.

An Iranian diplomatic mission in India has shared an AI-generated video mocking US President Donald Trump over his recent decision to extend the ceasefire, triggering fresh online chatter.

The video was posted by the Iranian Consulate in Hyderabad on X, with a caption suggesting it had gone viral in Iran. The 45-second clip uses artificial intelligence and internet meme culture to lampoon Trump’s claims around Iran-US negotiations.

In the video, a caricatured Trump is seen seated at a negotiation table alongside AI versions of US officials, including Vice President JD Vance, waiting for an Iranian delegation that never arrives.

The Trump figure is shown typing a boastful post on Truth Social, declaring that talks with Iran are going “very great."

The clip then cuts to a SpongeBob SquarePants-style “2,000 years later" meme, portraying Trump growing increasingly impatient.

He is seen threatening military action before asking the empty room, “So where are the Iranians?" An aide then hands him a note that bluntly reads, “Shut up, Trump," drawing laughter in the background.

The satire concludes with the AI Trump announcing that he will extend the ceasefire “at Pakistan’s request" before abruptly walking out of the room.

In reality, Trump has said he agreed to extend the ceasefire indefinitely after Pakistan requested more time for Iran’s leadership to formulate a unified proposal to end hostilities.

However, Tehran has signalled hesitation about returning to talks that are expected to be held in Islamabad later this week.

Iranian officials have questioned Washington’s sincerity in the negotiation process. According to state media, foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said Iran entered the talks in good faith but accused the US of showing “disregard and lack of seriousness."

Baqaei added that Iran has yet to decide whether it will participate in the next round of peace negotiations with the United States, underscoring the uncertainty surrounding the diplomatic process even as the ceasefire holds, for now.
