To spread awareness about ethical voting, Blessy, a Class X student from Suddala village in Rajanna Sircilla district, displayed a banner in front of her house against bribing voters in the form of cash or gifts ahead of the ensuing Gram Panchayat elections.

A student of Telangana Social Welfare Residential School for girls in Baddenapally, Blessy is known for her active role in spreading environmental awareness campaigns, led by her father Prakash, a nature enthusiast.

Her family’s green initiatives such as making seed balls and scattering them in the forest fringe areas, had won wide appreciation in the past.

The banner in front of Prakash’s house in Suddala village reads: “We will not sell our votes. We believe in the potential of voting to usher in the development of our village and country as a whole.”

“Those who induce voters with money or liquor don’t come to our house”, the banner read, highlighting ethical voting for strengthening democracy.
