State left without identity during YSRCP regime, says Naidu

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday criticised the YSR Congress Party and its president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that the State was left without an identity during its regime and that it was now opposing Amaravati as the sole capital.

Mr. Naidu participated in the launch of ‘Jaladhara’, a 100-day action plan for water-conservation, at Yadiki in the Tadipatri Assembly constituency. He was greeted by farmers and party activists with banners displaying the Amaravati logo and slogans of ‘Jai Amaravati’.

Addressing the gathering, he said people could now proudly say that the State has a capital, Amaravati. He alleged that the previous government had played a ‘three-cards’ game with its three-capitals proposal, while the present government was committed to a single capital. He said that of the 50 political parties represented in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, all except the YSRCP had extended support to Amaravati in Parliament.

Referring to the MAVIGUN (Machilipatnam-Vijayawada-Guntur) proposal, Mr. Naidu said those who do not even want to take the name of Amaravati were now coming up with alternative proposals. He alleged that those unable to digest the fast-tracking of Amaravati works were raising allegations of corruption in the construction of the capital.

Mr. Naidu also accused the YSRCP of hurting the sentiments of people by allegedly using adulterated ghee in the preparation of laddus at the Tirumala temple and said that the taste of Tirupati laddu had improved. He asked people not to support any individual or party that works against the development of the State or attempts to drive away investors by issuing threats.
