The incident has raised serious concerns over road safety and the welfare of minor students.

Teachers of a government school in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district allegedly took the students on an excursion in a tipper lorry and a pickup goods vehicle instead of arranging a bus or authorised transport. The incident has sparked a massive outrage with parents of the students alleging negligence by the school.
According to parents, the teachers chose to transport the children in goods vehicles, despite clear legal restrictions prohibiting the carriage of passengers in such vehicles.
The incident has raised serious concerns over road safety and the welfare of minor students.
Parents have termed the act “highly irresponsible", and pointed out that teachers, who are expected to educate children about road safety, themselves acted in a reckless manner by allowing students to travel in unsafe conditions.
The excursion, described as being conducted in a risky manner, has triggered complaints to education department officials.
Parents have demanded strict action against those responsible and sought clarity on how permission was granted for such transport arrangements.
