Parts of Kerala are likely to get some respite from the rising temperatures as summer showers are likely this weekend, triggered by a low pressure over the southwest Bay of Bengal.

According to a weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday, a pressure area over the equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal persists as of Wednesday. The system is likely to move west-northwestwards towards Sri Lanka and become more marked over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining equatorial Indian Ocean during the next 24 hours.

Under the influence of the system, scattered isolated summer showers are likely across the State during the next five days.
