Indore: A cyber fraud accused tracked through mobile phone location data was detained in Indore on Sunday after a team from Telangana Police arrived in the city to investigate an online financial fraud case involving transactions of lakhs of rupees.The team from Cyberabad cyber crime police station in Hyderabad first reported at Indore police control room before reaching Khajrana police station and seeking local assistance to trace suspects whose locations were found in Palasia and Khajrana areas.Acting on the request, Khajrana police joined the operation and helped identify and detain one of the accused, Kapil Ahir, who is originally from Burhanpur but was staying near Khajrana square.

He was subsequently handed over to Telangana Police.According to Khajrana police station in-charge Manoj Sendhav, the man was wanted in a cyber fraud case registered in Cyberabad, where he and another suspect, identified as Tilak Shaival, were alleged to have cheated victims of lakhs of rupees through online fraud.Police said that the man’s location was re-verified before a local team accompanied the visiting officers to detain him. Telangana police produced the accused before a court in Indore and obtained transit remand before taking him to Hyderabad for further investigation.
