Praveen, Principal Correspondent, The Hindu, Thiruvananthapuram bureau, received the Swaraj Award for 2026 for the Best Reporter in the English print media category from Minister for Local Self-Governments M.B. Rajesh at the Local Self-Government Day celebrations in Kannur on Thursday. He was chosen for the award in recognition of his feature ‘How Kerala eradicated extreme poverty.’ The award carries a cash prize of ₹25,000, a citation, and a memento.
