'They Have No Parents': Woman Abandons Children On Bus, Flees On Father’s Scooter With Lover

Maharashtra woman allegedly abandons two children on bus after fleeing with lover, cash and scooter, grandfather refuses custody, children placed in Shishugriha care

A woman from Maharashtra allegedly abandoned her two children on a bus before eloping with her lover after stealing cash and a scooter from her father, police said. The children were later found crying by the bus conductor, who alerted authorities after discovering a handwritten note in one of their pockets.

According to police, the woman seated the children on a Pandharpur-Sambhaji Nagar bus and left with her lover on a scooter allegedly stolen from her father. The note recovered from the child read: “These children have no parents. Please put them on a bus bound for Yavatmal," and also carried a mobile number.

The case came to light after the bus reached Beed, where the conductor noticed the children crying and informed police. A call made to the number mentioned in the note led investigators to the children’s maternal grandfather.

Police said the grandfather had earlier lodged a complaint on April 30 in Yavatmal, alleging that his daughter had fled with cash and his scooter. He was later called to Beed police station after investigators linked the abandoned children to the case.

According to police, the grandfather appeared more concerned about the missing scooter than the children and allegedly refused to take their custody. Authorities then stepped in to care for the minors.

The children have now been admitted to a Shishugriha with the help of the Beed Child Welfare Committee and district administration, where they are receiving care and support, officials said
