Tourists visiting the hill stations of Chikkamagaluru taluk will need to book online in advance starting from September 1. The district administration has decided to restrict the number of vehicles allowed to the hill stations to 1,200 per day to prevent congestion on the narrow lanes and ensure the safety of visitors.
The Chikkamagaluru district administration, in a communication to the media on Thursday, stated that the administration will allow a maximum of 1,200 vehicles in two sessions per day.
The first slot will be between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m., and the second will be between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. This applies to those planning to visit Mullayyanagiri, Seethalayyanagiri, Sri Guru Dattatreya Bababudan Swamy Darga, and Manikyadhara on the Chandradrona Hilly Ranges.
The vehicles would include 100 two- or three-wheelers, 100 yellow-board taxi vehicles, 50 tempo travellers, 50 ten-seat vehicles, and 300 cars/jeeps/SUVs in each session. The number includes vehicles of those visiting homestays and resorts as well.
Entry fee
The entry fee for cars is ₹100, ₹150 for 10-seater (Toofan), ₹200 for tempo traveller and for two-wheelers it is ₹50.
