Traffic diversions for Bakrid prayers at Mir Alam Idgah

In view of Id-ul-Azha prayers scheduled at the Mir Alam Tank Idgah on May 28, Hyderabad traffic police have announced traffic diversions and special parking arrangements.

According to the advisory, diversions will be in force from 7 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. around Bahadurpura, Tadban, Kalapather and surrounding areas to manage the movement of devotees and prevent congestion during the prayers.

Vehicles coming from Puranapul, Kamatipura and Kishanbagh towards the Idgah will be allowed through Bahadurpura X roads and directed towards designated parking spaces near the Zoo Park wall and the open area opposite Masjid Allah-ho-Akbar. During this period, general traffic will not be permitted towards Idgah and Tadban and will instead be diverted towards the Dr Manmohan Singh Express Flyover connecting Zoo Park and Aramgarh.

Motorists travelling from Shivarampally and Danamma Huts towards the Idgah will be allowed through Danamma Huts X roads and directed towards parking facilities set up along the route, including areas near Sufi Cars, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) parking, Modern Petrol Pump and the Mir Alam filter bed. General traffic in the area will be diverted towards Shastripuram and NS Kunta.

Vehicles approaching from Kalapather for prayers will be permitted through Kalapather police station and directed towards parking areas near Mass Material Shop and the Indian Oil petrol bunk. General traffic will be diverted towards Mochi Colony, Bahadurpura, Shamsheergunj and Nawab Saheb Kunta.

The police also stated that heavy vehicles travelling from Puranapul towards Bahadurpura will be diverted towards Jiyaguda and City College on a need basis until the congregation disperses after prayers.

Heavy vehicles travelling between Bahadurpura and Shamshabad, Rajendranagar and Mailardevpally will be allowed through the Dr Manmohan Flyover during the prayer hours.

Police have urged citizens to plan their travel accordingly, use alternative routes and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure smooth movement during the festival prayers.
