Two men lose lives cleaning septic tank in Kalaburagi

Two men tragically lost their lives while cleaning a septic tank at Madarsanahalli, near Hirapur village, on the outskirts of Kalaburagi city on February 18.

The deceased have been identified as Shivakumar Nandurkar, 51, a resident of Madarsanahalli, and his friend Ratan Hotkar, 58, from Indira Nagar. According to the police, the two were friends who occasionally undertook the task of cleaning septic tanks as part of routine household maintenance.

On February 18 morning, Nandurkar had entered his home’s septic tank for cleaning, accompanied by Hotkar. Both reportedly lost consciousness inside the tank and were unable to exit. Authorities confirmed their deaths after being alerted to the incident.

A case has been registered at Ashok Nagar Police Station.
