Villager attacks man with machete, injures him severely

Chikkamagaluru: A 35-year-old man was severely injured after he was attacked by a villager with a machete over a woman in Chikkamagaluru’s Balehonnur on Tuesday.Arun Kumar of Hoovinahakllu sustained injuries after Sheshagiri of Huigere near Magundi allegedly attacked him with a machete.

All the three_victim, accused and the woman, were labourers, police said.According to Balehonnur police, Arun Kumar was in a relationship with a woman who was residing in Balehonnur for the past one year. She had separated from her husband and was living alone, police said. However, Sheshagiri befriended her and developed a friendly relationship with her, they added.Arun, who planned to marry her, learnt about Sheshagiri. He warned the woman not to continue friendship with him. On Tuesday, both Arun and Sheshagiri visited the woman’s house and clashed. Sheshagiri attacked Arun with a machete, cops said.Balehonnour police have registered a case and investigation is on.
