The legendary Dharmendra, a titan of Bollywood who left us at the age of 89 last November, was a beacon of hope for countless actors, including the beloved Akshay Kumar. Hindi cinema icon Dharmendra passed away in November last year at the age of 89. The late legend had ruled the hearts of his fans for several decades. Even actors like Akshay Kumar used to admire the screen veteran. During his appearance on the former celebrity chat show, 'Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai', Akshay had expressed that when he was struggling to make it big in Bollywood, he used to get inspired by Dharmendra.

Talking about his struggling days with host Farooq Sheikh, Akshay shared, "My favorite hero used to be Dharam Ji. When you watch him, you can see him for hours and hours. Before his passing, Dharmendra was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after complaining of breathing difficulties. After receiving the required treatment, he was discharged and brought to his Juhu residence. His family stated that the veteran actor will be treated at home. However, his health deteriorated once again, and he was reportedly put on a ventilator.On November 24, the veteran took his last breath. After making his debut with 'Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere', he became a part of several blockbuster hits like 'Phool Aur Patthar', 'Dharam Veer', 'Sholay', and 'Seeta Aur Geeta'.
