Shravan Month 2025, Sawan Somwar Dates: The Hindu calendar’s month of Shravan, also known as Sawan, is an auspicious and spiritually significant month dedicated to Lord Shiva.
This holy month is marked via fasting, prayers, and rituals, particularly on Mondays, which are known as Shravan Somwar or Sawan Somwar Vrat. During the Sawan month, many followers fast for sixteen Mondays, known as Solah Somwar.
Tuesdays, or Mangalwar, in the month of Shravan are devoted to Goddess Parvati, Lord Shiva’s wife, and are known as Mangal Gauri Vrat. Sawan Shivaratri and Hariyali Amavasya are other auspicious days in the Shravan month.

The Shravan month begins fifteen days before the Amanta calendar on the Purnimanta calendar, which is often used in North Indian states. In 2025, the Hindu month of Shravan (Sawan) will begin and end on different dates in North India (Purnimanta calendar) and South and Western India (Amanta calendar).
